My sweet Mitchell turned 8 on the 30th of august. He came into the world 3 weeks early and was only 5lb 9oz. We had a few names picked out but when we saw him, Soren and i knew Mitchell was the name for this sweet boy. His middle name Owen which means gift from God and he is has been wonderful gift from our Heavenly father.
Mitchell is such a easy going kid he was from the very beginning. when Mitchell was a 18 months old we found out I was pregnant again and that he had a mild to severe hearing loss in both ears. This news made our hearts drop not knowing where to go from here. we got Mitchell hearing aids and start to notice that he was able to hear and enrolled in the Utah school for the deaf.
The hearing aids helped a lot he began to talk more and began to learn. he is now in second grade and has been and doing really well. In July of last year he lost hearing in his left ear so we were able to get a cochlear implant for him. Mitchell is doing so well his speech teachers are impressed on how well he picks up on things they are working on.
Mitchell Owen you are an amazing boy we love you so much. We hope that you continue to work hard and you will be able to do anything you want to do.
